Finally!!!!!! It’s looking more and more like some level of normal life for all of us. Most areas have lifted their restrictions for crowd sizes. “Social distancing” mandates are easing as are the dreaded mask requirements. All of these things along with the increasing levels of vaccinations are allowing for events to be staged and full participation by the racers and the spectators. The Geezers are primed and ready for some track time.
It appears at this point, our schedule will call for 5 or 6 events, including everyone’s favorite The NHRA’s Hot Rod Reunion at Bowling Green KY. We have 18 cars, some past favorites as well as some new additions. Inasmuch as this event will be directed by a new crew of NHRA officials, a few changes are inevitable, but be assured, the Geezers are ready to do their thing. C’mon out and be entertained. C’mon into the pits and have a closer look at the cars up close. Talk to the owners and drivers, but be forewarned, some of these guys will talk your ear off.
The rest of the year will include some old favorites…..Blue Suede Cruise at Norwalk, Rock ‘n Race at Dragway 42 for sure. There’s a couple of new venues too. Bunker Hill Dragway is hosting a birthday celebration for the facility in late August. We’ll be there, along with Grand Marshall Shirley Muldowney. September has us at an all time favorite location, Lucas Oil Raceway (known to most of us as Indianapolis Raceway Park. We will be involved in a followup to Gasser Magazine’s Gasser Series. Finally, mid October, will find some of us at Atmore AL as participants in the Gasser Blow Out. This one should be a hell of an event, as the gasser event that had been scheduled for Meridian MS in May was rescheduled to be rolled into the Gasser Blowout. LOTS OF CARS from all over the country.
Have a look at our schedule for complete dates and locations. You can also chase things down by accessing the specific track’s website schedules.
Welcome back to all….and a BIG THANKS for sticking with us. We all know it’s been a strange year, and we are all ready for some track time. Come out and join us.
